About Rich Meijer

Recording artist, composer and producer Rich Meijer’s creations are a culmination of an eclectic and exciting musical journey that led him through days on tour opening for acts like The Black Crowes and The Neville Brothers, and sharing the stage with the renowned artists including Gov’t Mule, Brian Setzer, Tim Leary, and Charlie Terrell.

Looking out on endless crowds at cherished venues and festivals throughout the U.S. and Europe felt like a dream to the man whose heart and soul are both captivated by and expressed through music. His passion grew years earlier when, in 1989, Rich saw The Allman Brothers Band perform at the Greek Theatre with his sister. There he witnessed how much they cared about the music they were playing and it changed his life forever.

With a jazz loving father and an opera singer mother, Rich’s early days were filled with music. From banging on pots and pans as a child, he moved into learning trumpet, teaching himself electric guitar and forming his first band in high school. He was immersed in the sounds of Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, Ozzy and more while he wrote and performed original music.

Rich attended the Musicians Institute and officially learned the language of music. Playing in clubs and enjoying the life on stage, he was tapped as the sideman for a Virgin recording artist Charlie Terrell and spent two years immersed in the recording industry which began a new journey for Rich..

Today, he produces, composes, writes music and performs the songs he loves. Some of Rich’s many credits in music, TV, film and video games include the following:

  • Several placements on the History Channel and Discovery Channel
  • Composer/performer for three official releases on Virgin Records for recording artist “Charlie Terrell”
  • Music director and performer for Lily Costner (daughter of Kevin Costner) for song “Every Little Thing” which appeared in the movie “3000 Miles to Graceland”
  • Music director for song “50 Ways to Leave Your Lover” (featuring vocalist Brian Chapman) for movie 3000 miles to Graceland
  • Music composer/producer for song “Murphys’ Law” which appeared in the movie 3000 Miles to Graceland
  • Music composer/producer/performer for song “River of the Clouds” which appeared in the movie 3000 Miles to Graceland
  • Music composer/producer on 20 original songs for Midway games “Road Kill”

In the summer of 2021, Rich releases his first single in many years, which is the first song to be released from his upcoming album expected in 2022. He credits the all-star group of talented musicians and professionals that worked on the project with helping him bring his vision to life.
